It is a 2GB IPOD NANO that is two weeks old. It went to black screen while I was going through photos that I had just downloaded.

Hmm...well u can press the select button(centre of click wheel) and the menu button at the same time and hold it down until it returns to normal (usually five seconds)..it worked for me. Try it out.
