Personally, I would select all the songs in iTunes and hit delete. It will ask you if you want to move them to the recycling bin and you hit Keep Files. Then your library will be empty and you will still have your music files. ok this might be a bit complicated. go to the itunes file in your computer, and delete the "iTunes Music Library.xml" that should completely remove everything off your itunes, but this will not remove the songs off your computer.
