How do i put songs onto an ipod shuffle??

Its supposed to be an mp3 but when i plug it into the computer it says mp4. I do not know how to convert it to mp3 or how to put songs on it.

1. If you haven%26#39;t done so yet, you need to go and download itunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ ...

2. Open itunes and then plug up your shuffle

3. Once you have your shuffle plugged in it should show up on the left hand side of your itunes window.

4. From there you can either buy music from Itunes, rip cds onto itunes, or convert all your music over to your itunes library.

5. Now with the music in your itunes library, click and drag whatever songs you want out of the library to the left hand side of the screen where your shuffle or any other mp3 player is located. i ain%26#39;t an expert so i have my friends do the song downloading on my ipod MP4 files are typically movies which will not go on an iPod shuffle.

Any MP3 on your harddrive you should be able to click and drag over it in iTunes once it%26#39;s plugged in.
