How do I turn my Ipod Nano backlight on.?

I have only had it 10 minutes. It tells me in the booklet that I have got to press any button of use the click whell. Though this does not work. On the settings it has backlight timer at 10 seconds.

Always on... go to settings, then backlight timer, then put always on or whatever time u want to put ur backlight timer go to the main menu scroll down using the wheel to back light press the middle button and that will switch it on. to change the settings of the back light scroll to settings and select backlight timer it is self-explainatory from there

xXx if it is set to 10 seconds it should work... Try a soft reset. Firstly lock and then unlock the click wheel (On top of the nano) then press and hold the centre button and menu until the ipod turns off the light should come back up automatically) If this doesnt work format the iPod by clicking restore on the iTunes menu. The deafult factory settings should pop it on. If that doesnt work then i%26#39;d take it back to the shop or if you bought it off apple contact them. try changing the settings
