I just recently was given a brand new iPod that plays video. I have already purchased one video off of itunes and am interested in converting my own DvD%26#39;s into usable files. I have gone to several sites that allow free downloads of the programs that allow you to do this but after downloading them it asks me what application to open it in. HELP I am completly clueless....what application do i have to have to open them?
Answers:
iPod can only support mpeg4 video. You will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you to convert dvds and video into mp4 or h264 format, add them into itunes library, then sync to ipod, see http://www.dvd-to-ipod-converter.com/dvd... this detailed and unbiased comparison chart and reviews of the top 5 selling dvd to ipod video converters for help to get the right converter for you, also take a look at http://www.dvd-to-ipod-converter.com/cuc... this step by step guide convert DVDs and all kinds of videos like avi, mpeg etc to ipod using cucusoft...works like a charming for me. go to dvdfab.com. the software costs you $50 bucks but it will pay for itself over time. really easy to use. the only thing is that you need to have plenty of harddrive space. each movie you make is anywhere from 500mb up to over 1 gig. You need a software program like the one in the link below http://www.aoamedia.com/dvd-to-ipod.htm... (trial version only)
After it finishes extracting the movie from your DVD, simply just load the extracted file in into your itunes library. Then from your itunes library, drag and drop it into your ipod. the fastest and easiest way is to get InterVideo iVideo To Go Platinum, its under $30 and available on line or at ur local best buy or Circuit City
