This is easy to do.

Download Handbrake, an Open source video converter that will take a DVD, or an ISO of a DVD, and rip it to whatever video format you desire. There%26#39;s even a list of presets that already has the best options for targets like PSP and iPod.

Just download and install the program, select "iPod" as the target format, select the DVD and start the conversion.
