How do you change a user name on an ipod?

i bought a secondhand ipod and want to change the users name to mine, how do i go about it.

if you have windows go to computer and in whatever driver you put it in it shows in with that name that you dont want and just re name it. but i think chris way would be easier but dony you lose your music in it? Once you plug it in, launch itunes, and click on the ipod icon on the left. Click restore, and let it restore itself then you can rename it.
